It's always been the case for me where I feel like if I don't do well, I haven't done my best. There's a catch all phrase often too loosely used (in my opinion) as a means of consolation or to comfort someone and it goes like this, 'It's okay. You've/ I've tried my best'. To me, this phrase just doesn't make sense. If I tried my best, I wouldn't have gotten the results that I did. It just goes to show that it wasn't my best. I made mistakes I shouldn't have made if I had worked harder. I let carelessness get the better of me when it shouldn't have. Had I done my best, this wouldn't have happened.
It's a pessimistic take on an optimistic phrase. There are many who will disagree with me but that's just my take on it anyway. =)
Exams are in a week. The countdown to freedom begins.
